I want to help those who may not otherwise speak, vocalize their own narratives and cultural idiosyncrasies through discovery of literature and language. Empathy, which is vital to tutoring, is as vital, if not more, to teaching. I not only do my best to usher students gently through the writing process, I shut up and listen to their stories. To see a student light up at that moment of realization when they finally understand a concept, or to watch their fear for English melt just a little bit, is, for me, an immeasurable honor. As a recent graduate of BYU in Business Management (finance emphasis) I have been able to show excellence in my own school work. I believe teaching is a noble profession. As a missionary I was a teacher for two years. There was a specified message about Jesus Christ and the incredible potential of mankind.
