Thanks to my education in psychology at Brown University, I have gleaned much wisdom about the workings of human behavior as well as the human psyche. I have been able to observe applications of what I've learned throughout my daily life. This is especially helpful in teaching; I can recognize the various personalities and the accompanying learning styles in the students, which enable me to be able to appropriately adjust how I present the material. I have found ways to connect almost any subject matter from physics to algebra to chemistry nomenclature into something one already knows. My formal teaching experience is limited to two years with seventh graders and high schoolers. When I pursed graduate work in cell biology, experiences with formal education were limited. However giving seminars and training technical staff was common and bears similarity to formal teaching.
