Dance is a Passion

I started my dance career when I was 2 and I trained at Top Hat Dance Centre in Lewisville and I trained there until my junior year in High School. While I was there I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pointe. When I was 6 I was invited to the competition team and I continued to be a part of that until I joined drill team in 2008. Before joining drill team in high school I was a member of the JV cheerleading team at Lewisville HIgh. While on that team I also competed on a competition cheer team. Junior year I joined drill team where I was on the elite hip hop and jazz teams while also making every competition dance. My senior year I was awarded Senior Lieutenant right under the captain. My teaching philosophy is one of guiding or facilitating learners in the learning process. Each learner has different motivations, skills, and abilities. Learning is about the process. I provide learners with multiple approaches to finding resources, making statements or arguments, and creating a cohesive line of thinking. By doing this, the learner is able to carry these skills across other courses, but also into their personal life and experience. Connecting the content to the individual’s live and experience is important. I enjoy helping learners find out how they learn best, developing these skills, and enabling them to be successful in their future learning endeavors.
