I have been teaching in a formal school setting for over 11 years. I have been a private tutor for 18 years. I have successfully taught and tutored several hundreds of students. I have tutoring experience for all of the Praxis Exams. I also have tutoring experience for the GRE. On an undergraduate level, I have successfully prepared students for the ACT and SAT. I give each student an initial assessment. We will discuss your results and plan a tutoring package to meet your specific needs. I travel and offer tutoring in the comfort of your own home. My preferred style of teaching is student-lead. I believe in the Socratic method, but appreciate following a curriculum, as well. I volunteer at a Montessori school and I know that getting learners of all ages interested and excited about a topic is the key to retention. For the past two years, I have been teaching journal-writing and college classes at the Louisville Comprehensive Care MS Center. Prior to that, I have tutored students ages 7-40 in a various set of topics, primarily math and business subjects.

The satisfaction that comes from working with a student, one on one, who is struggling, and seeing them change from angry and insecure to confident and proud is immense. I haven't found it anywhere else. As a teacher, my initial goal is to discover how to facilitate the individual learning styles of my students.
