My comments on tutoring Genetics : I took this course during my undergraduate studies at UCSD, receiving an A in the course.

I worked as an Undergraduate Instructional Apprentice (UGIA)/Tutor at UCSD for the courses of Nutrition and AIDS, Science, and Society. In my role as a UGIA/Tutor, I was responsible for leading a weekly (sometimes biweekly) discussion section with a group of students in which I reviewed course material that was taught by the professor in their respective courses as well as providing worksheets and writing quizzes to help the students learn the material covered in lecture. If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.
All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.

During high school I acquired my first teaching position. I figure skated as a hobby and had been working at my local ice rink for three years. A position opened up for an assistant coach. I helped teach skating classes for toddlers up to the elderly. It was a very rewarding experience. I taught classes for that ice rink for two years until I left for college.
