Teaching to me is a vocation and not just a job. I enjoy helping children achieve their peek potential in the subject matter at hand. My teaching experience is mostly in private school settings and I taught public school for a year. I am currently waiting to be certified in Spanish in Virginia and will be taking the courses necessary to become a certified teacher in the near future. I have taught 6 grade to High School level Spanish, English and Social Studies and Middle School Math. In my experience as a teacher in the church,I have worked with a variety of students from young to old, from very intelligent to the mentally challenged. Thus I have learned to be flexible. One style does not suit all. With one on one or a small group, the ability to change to fit the student population is extremely important. Especially with composition, it is important to help students be able to write about what they see and feel. I love working with children of all ages. I can say I am patient enough to deal with elementary students being that I've done so before. I love to have fun with learning and can bring the fun of learning to the classroom. I want the students to want to learn and that is what I am going to bring to the table. Children's church is where a year of my experience comes from. I would guide a group of children during the service and would spend individual time with those who wanted to brush up on their reading and writing. I enjoyed every minute of this experience and can say I made an impact in those children's lives.
