My comments on tutoring Writing : Very experienced (I've written two books).

I like a conversational, relaxed style in which the students are encouraged to speak English as much as possible. I often have students repeating useful, whole sentences and phrases.Mistakes are okay! Humor is okay! Questions are encouraged.
I am a very experienced teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL). I served for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Afghanistan and the Fiji Islands. My comments on tutoring Writing : Writing is a way to sit down and speak freely via pen and paper to express feeling, emotion, and communication to reconcile ideas, feelings, and actions at that point in time.

My first job right after turning 16 was working as a photographer and journalist for the local newspaper in my hometown. I tend to be really flexible and try to adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the student. For students who tend to be more tactile, I might have them handle apples if a math problem references apples. If a student is working on a writing assignment, I will offer suggestions (such as marking spelling/grammar/punction mistakes) and help them learn how to correct the errors so they won't continue to make the same errors in the future.
