A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. I have worked with children from ages 3 to 16 starting from the time that I was a sophomore in high school to the present. I have served a diverse array of roles, such as summer camp counselor, patient care associate at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and a mathematics teacher at an inner city school in St. Louis. There are many arrays of learning styles. I personally use visually, writing, and seeing the bigger picture. First, the mind can develop a concept or help map out the ideas by seeing the picture to the learning task. Second writing helps to reinforce the concept or idea. A Little Bit About Me...

For some children, some subjects are hard to understand. Children can get frustrated just by not being able to understand the subject matter. My approach is to alleviate that frustration by going through the steps slowly and demonstrating these steps several times. In addition, I allow students to go through the steps on their own with my assistance so that I can catch any mistakes that they make. I am patient, and I find creative ways for children to learn. For example, I might relate a math concept to some aspect in everyday life. I utilize tools that I learned in school that helped me learn things easier.
