I graduated from high school as number eleven in rank out of 248. I often assisted other students in both high school and college. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects. I love the art of teaching. I work with the student on an individual level, tailoring my methods to achieve maximum learning comprehension. Usually, I prefer to have the student figure things out for themselves using guided questions and logic. I feel that one of the most effective methods is, rather than lecture the student and provide the answer, I instead provide the basic materials of the problem and encourage them to figure things out progressively.
