Patient and Friendly Tutor!

I try to engage my students in every way possible. Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Pictures, music, relevant historical information- anything to help facilitate learning.

I began tutoring as a volunteer with the America Reads program in high school. I continued volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club during college. After an opportunity to assist a professor in administering a freshman course, I applied to teach high school in Pasco County. I taught world history and psychology for one year before returning to school for my Master of Arts degree in History. I continued tutoring on the side, but spent most of my time assisting professors in the Department of History at Winthrop University as a Graduate Assistant where I edited exams and papers for undergraduate students. There have been numerous studies showing that different types of learning exist, and it is my belief that each individual student needs to be taught through adaptive teaching methodologies. I believe that everyone is unique, and each student needs to develop their own style of learning. It is the job of the educator to discover those different styles and implement a teaching method that is most advantageous to the student.
Having earned a bachelor's degree in Theology and Apologetics with superior academic achievement,I have challenged myself academically, and developed excellent writing and argumentative skills.
