I am the author of five historical novels and a number of articles, poems and short stories. I occasionally do short “residences” teaching Language Arts and Drama to special needs students in k-12 schools for VSA Arts of Florida. My graduate studies emphasized American and Tudor/Stuart History. My doctorate included a Criminal Justice minor. I regularly teach writing and grant writing seminars to adults, usually through libraries on weekends or in the evening. I believe everyone will respond well to individualized instruction when the tutor studies the student's learning style and offers the information in the form best suited to each learner. I enjoy teach with all different age levels. Most recently, I taught 4th grade science through the FSU Teach Program. It was fun and really showed me how to teach students and make the lessons engaging and fun. Its important to keep the child focused.
