I worked with elementary students as a substitute teacher and feel comfortable working with them in most subjects. I also taught French at the elementary level and worked with 5th and 6th graders in creating dances and performing them in the Chance to Dance program in Rhode Island. Tutoring was first introduced to me while in highschool, where I tutored other students on state testing. I began tutoring in 2006 working with afterschool programs in Waco TX. Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
