I'm an Elementary Education major, getting ready to finish my last semester of classes at Western Governors University. I also substitute teach for Lewis County Schools, and I volunteer in the library by assisting students with their reading. I've passed all my Praxis exams required for being a teacher in the state of Kentucky, and I LOVE KIDS. I also spent almost 9 years teaching English as a Foreign Language in China, 1 year in Beijing, 7 years in Tianjin, and 1 year in Taiwan. I've taught students from 3 years old all the way up to around 65 years old, which included pre-school, up through all of the grades of grade school, and even into college and university-level courses. I received my bachelors degree in elementary education in May of 2007 from Midway College. I began teaching second grade at Bourbon County Schools in August of 2007 and have been ever since. I was selected by my principal during my second year of teaching to receive the "Starfish" award. I obtained my masters degree in elementary education with an emphasis of reading and writing in 2012.

I have learned many teaching styles. Each student learns differently, so there is a technique to apply to very learning style to accommodate individual needs. I am a junior at EKU working toward my Bachelor of Science. Education major with concentrations in Math and English. I have tutored my mom in basic college math as well as statistics, and her grades have definitely improved.
