My comments on tutoring Literature : I'm very familiar and experienced with British Literature, not so much American Lit. I do know some American Literature authors.

I started tutoring in 2009 through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. I tutor my "Little" for an hour once a week. I help with whatever subject they need. My specialty is Language Arts, but if you need help with basic math, I can do that too. I have observed many elementary, middle school, and high school classes. I know what works best, especially since I'm going to become a high school language arts teacher in a few years.
I'm patient. I'll try and make my lessons easy to understand. I know how frustrating language arts can be, but I also know how rewarding it can be as well. I can relate very easily to high school students, because I just graduated from high school 5 years ago.

I have taken many courses over an extended period of time. In 2002 I entered the Surgical Technology program at Jefferson Technical College; I managed a 4.00 and missed only a couple of days. During the many testing phases of the program I stayed and helped get other students through the program, I was commended on my drive and determination to help other students, all while maintaining my grade average. I pulled down some of the highest scores in the programs history. This didn't go unnoticed, as shortly after graduation I was asked by the Dean of Allied Health and Surgical Technology Program Coordinator to come back and teach. Some of my job duties included recruiting, testing, and retaining adult learners. I have also developed lesson plans and facilitated learning through the use of technology. I have earned my B.S.B.A in Accounting as well as a M.A. in Management and Leadership. My strongest areas of study are in math and writing.

I use the scientific method of teaching. My style is Socratic. I believe, as Rene Descartes did before me, that human knowledge is innate, including our ability to learn and use language. I teach children to learn by given them the tools they need to think logically and abstractly. Life is dynamic, what happens today, will likely change tomorrow.
