I never fully understand a new method or technique without seeing it and trying it with my own hands first. After graduating from the University of Miami, I taught Kindergarten, a 3rd/4th grade combination, 6th grade, and computers/technology. After having children, I transitioned to tutoring students, some with special needs including, dyslexia, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and others. For the last 4 years, I have been a Reading Resource teacher, working with students in phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. My partner and I were in charge of making lesson plans and fulfilling these plans for each class. I really enjoyed seeing the children get excited about learning. I enjoy seeing children learn new things. I know that every child learns differently. It is important to get to know the children that you are teaching and figure out what teaching technique fits there needs. I feel like I do an excellent job of portraying what I am trying to teach.
