Experience Summary
After graduating from the University of Miami, I taught Kindergarten, a 3rd/4th grade combination, 6th grade, and computers/technology. After having children, I transitioned to tutoring students, some with special needs including, dyslexia, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and others. For the last 4 years, I have been a Reading Resource teacher, working with students in phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. In my current job, I work with students in Kindergarten through the fourth grade. My students enjoy their time with me and have all improved their skills significantly. I am also well respected by my supervisors, principals, and my peers.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching children how to learn and enjoy it. I believe all children can learn, but each in their own way. Learning styles vary and I believe it is important to use a student’s strengths to gain academic success. I am patient, easy going, and have a good sense of humor. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I believe in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructive approach to learning. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate learning experiences and opportunities. A few good educators can make a world of difference in a child's education and their attitude towards school and learning. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
