Hi everyone! My name is Danielle Miyagishima and I've been tutoring math and science for pay for the last 2 years. I have done private tutoring for high school and college students. I have also been employed by NMSU's tutoring center. I have also served as a "BioCat" which is a biology catalyst. A biology catalyst is a type of teaching assistant that works with NMSU's biology department. I have been a private tutor for the past two years. In that time I helped a student who had dropped out of high school learn all of the necessary skills required to excel at the new GED test. He achieved honors on the Math and Science portions and scored very well on the Reasoning through the Language Arts and Social Studies sections. In October I helped him study for his ACT. He scored a 23 on the ACT and with his GED-High School Equivalent GPA of 4.0 he was accepted to New Mexico State University and plans to obtain a Masters in International Relations. As a teacher, I use myself as a tool to help facilitate the learning process. I have a social work background which, in my work has always been integrated with some component of teaching, both in and out of the classroom. I can teach most K-12 subjects, college prep courses and provide tutoring services including assessment and curriculum development.
