I have a passion for whole student development and profound motivations to embrace learning to become competent and efficient. I have been a pharmacy aid and 'Tutoring' aka 'Substitute Teaching' primary, and secondary school students since I was a secondary-school-er (1989). I have officially Substitute taught in math and science with successful completion of provisional contracts to teach Summer/Extended School, etc.
I believe every student natually can learn everything that is to be learned. The only variable is time in related competence building textbook experiencial leaning. This community interventional cooperative tutor facilitation is my teaching style.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a varied educational and professional background with experience in teaching students in several venues. In high school, I tutored math and reading to elementary students. I taught reading and religion immediately after graduation in 1991. As a young professional, I taught economics with the Junior Achievement program. My needs for additional business training lead me to work on a business degree with a focus on accounting. I coached youth soccer for four years and later went on to coach high school soccer. I hold both a recreational and youth coaching license from SCYSA. I currently tutor youth in reading and data interpretation.

I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective. The latter mentioned characteristics has always been viewed by me as the hallmarks of tutoring. I have worked for years with the brightest and those who just need the right approach to learning to become the brightest. I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
