My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : I have experience working with elementary age students while being employed as a reading tutor with the Memphis Literacy Corps for three consecutive years. Also, I worked as the Elementary Education Coordinator for Youth Visions, Inc. focusing on reading and math skills for students.

My teaching style is dependent upon the student's learning ability. Typically I am a hands on teacher and enjoy using as many visuals as possible.

Making Learning as fun as possible.

I prefer to have a fun learning environment. I think you learn from hearing, seeing, and doing.
I’ve had many years of practice in the tutoring field dealing with the fact that my brother has a learning disability. He likes to have fun and thinks that leaning is boring, so I try to make learning as fun as possible. Then I have my student on student tutoring when the students tutor each other. I think its better that way because most students don't really pay attention to their teachers but they take it better when it comes from another student. Sometimes its better because something you understand they may not understand and when you explain it to them then may be they will understand it a little better. Basically what im saying is that some kids learn better from other kids.

Excellent Reading Tutor with 25 years in the classroom/tutor

When I teach I like to show alot of enthusiasm for the subject that we're working on. I love to learn and I try to pass that on to my students. I use alot of positive reinforcement and praise. Making Learning Fun...That's What It's ALL About

I have 19 years of experience teaching in an elementary/middle school in DeSoto County MS. I have taught all of the subjects, but the last few years I taught elementary math.
