Hi, I am very much interested in tutoring job since from my childhood. So during my schooling i used to teach subjects to my younger brother. I worked as a synthetic organic chemist at Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company for five years. I spent the next 20+ years as a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler, teaching my three children from kindergarten until they graduated from high school.(My two oldest are now college graduates and the third is presently in college.) I enjoy math and try to make it fun for the students. We do hands on activities which are fun for them, but also gets them to understand the concept. I use Algebra wrap-ups, Algebra tiles, "Hands-on- Algebra" program. I have creative lesson plans, for example, which uses a deck of cards to play an Integer War Game. I teach in a Catholic School, where attitude, self-esteem, and manners are just as important as the core subjects.

While I am happy to explain concepts and answer specific questions, many students merely ask “Can you show me how to do this?” While a demonstration is useful and necessary the first few times, I will then switch to leading questions to allow the student to recall the appropriate next steps. It is also useful to have the student explain what they DO understand about a problem to better identify what they DON’T understand and why.
