A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance, as well as a current CPA license issued by the State of Texas. I have taught managerial accounting at UT Tyler. In addition to this, I taught high school US History, World Geography, Economics and AP Microeconomics for five years. At this time I am exploring the possibility of leaving private industry and returning to the classroom. Teaching is my passion! My comments on tutoring American History : One of my favorite subjects in school. Still read about it constantly.

Very relaxed and encouraging. I use quite a bit of discussion, and I like to ask students questions that lead them down the path to help them discover the answers they seek. I have found that information is better retained if one can guide the student to the conclusion that they seek, building upon the knowledge that is already there. One of my favorite thing is watching stidents' faces when they have the "Aha!" Moments.

I have Accounting, Finance, and Economics degrees or designations of emphasis as part of my educational resume. Earning those degrees takes quite a bit of mathematical and analytical knowledge and skill. I went into these degree areas because they not only met one of many areas of interest to me but I also perceived they were perhaps more useful. However, I have a great interest and an immersion based education in history, civics, and political science based areas.
