Biology is one of my top subjects! Biology is a wonderful class that can give you a broad overloook over such subjects as Botany, Anatomy, Chemistry and Ecology. It establishes the basic building blocks to focus on other areas of science.

I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! By understanding the make-up of cellular structures and relating that to tissue functions the students can fully understand a subject. This proves true with all subjects. By impowering the student with good base fundamentals, my students find it easier to link concepts together.

My comments on tutoring Biology : I have been a tutor for over 15 years, with a BAS in Psychology, BS in Biology and Health Science, and a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine. My students usually pull up their grades from a F up to a C+, that's how much I help them understand the subject. Eventually they reach a B or A depending on how much effort they put into it. My specialty is to adjust the teaching method on the subject, to the student's learning ability. I believe everyone can learn, they just have different ways to do it. I also focus on the student's need, which is something most students nowadays don't obtain at school from their teachers.

I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others to learn. I don't believe in "I can't do it" or "I can't learn". I believe that anyone can learn anything as long as they're willing to learn and put an effort to do so. What is different is that some people have more ability than other to learn certain tasks, but eventually, everyone can learn. It is all a matter of adapting oneself to the student's need and ability to learn. My goal is to make the student learn what they set up their mind to learn in the first place, and help them improve their condition. A Little Bit About Me...

Normally I will watch as the student works and when they get stuck is when I would help them. If they do not understand the material I will go back and teach it again. Once they seem to get it I would give one or two practice problems just to be sure they understand completely. I have no issues with repeating things multiple times if it means furthering the child's knowledge.
I have only ever tutored my neighbors two daughters. They both benefitted from it and both of the girls grades went up. Most of the time I would help them with math ,but would also help in any subject they needed, and they would work on their homework as I watched and guided them in the correct direction.
