I have taught algebra, geometry, ESL, English Grammar, and Arabic language for over nine years. My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I love teaching math using a variety of strategies to insure mastery. Math is actually fun to teach and learn (if taught well)!

I have joyfully taught students in grades 1 through 5 in Los Angeles urban schools, and in the suburbs of Plano. I have also been a Literacy Coach, assisting teachers in grades kindergarten through fifth to enhance their teaching skills in reading, writing, vocabulary, phonics, etc. - all areas of literacy. I tutored all subjects - especially in Math all through High School. I also tutored in college. I have strong skills in Math - all levels - but I especially enjoy algebra. I have two children and I basically taught my oldest son math, since he was a different kind of learner than the way they teach at school. He is a very kinesthetic type learner and needs to see, feel and touch to understand the concepts - so I used a lot of tools to help him. I can tutor math and science exceptionally well and other subjects for the younger levels.
I enjoy teaching when there is a bit of a challenge getting the student to understand the concept. As I have mentioned, I can use different styles to help the student get the concept.
