A Little Bit About Me...

I love the one on one interaction a tutor has with the students. I believe all children have a unique style of learning and we need to help them find their own way of learning. For example some kids are visual learners, while others are hearing learners. My work as a tutor is to see which method is the best for them. I am very patience with my students. Some students just need a little bit of guidance to help raise their self esteem and I am sure with our help they are going to be well prepared for college.
I have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in environmental engineering. A Little Bit About Me...

Though I have a degree in classroom education, one-on-one teaching is my heartbeat. I believe it is the highest good for a student's learning. It prevents your student from getting "lost in the crowd" and allows us to focus on his or her needs. My first goal is to determine how the student learns. Using creative strategies and different methods, I do my best to take a confusing or frustrating subject and make it understandable, if not enjoyable.
I traveled for a year with a family and home-schooled their 3 children. The children were in 1st grade, kindergarten, and pre-school and were seriously below grade level in math and reading. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a Senior at Bethel College. I will recieve a bachelor's in Psychology at May 1, 2011. I have been tutoring since the summer of 2010. I tutored pre-algebra this summer during my internship at Bashor Children's Home in Goshen Indiana. I am currently tutoring College Pre-Algebra at Bethel College. I have excelled in Written Communications 3, Reseach Methods, College Statistics, and the psychology courses that I have taken. I have also taken 4.5 years of Spanish. I am well capable to tutoring in any of the subjects that I have mentioned.
