I believe that the learner and instructor must work collaborative in order to be most effective. I believe in applied learnign which means that not only are the basics and mechanics necessary to form a foundation, but the learner must be able to see how the learning can benefit him or her now and in the future. As an educator that has taught in both the private and the public schools systems for the last 19 years, I have learned a great deal.....the child must always come first! My degrees are in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with most of my career spent in Kindergarten and First grade. I really do not have a teaching style yet. A one on one setting is what I am used to. I am open to different teaching techniques depending on the help the child requires. The internet is available and has many different techniques to learning different subjects I can research as I see fit.
I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. A Little Bit About Me...

I was a music specialist for one semester. It was a great experience that I truly enjoyed. I taught grades K-5. I was responsible for creating my own lesson plans and activities for the 40 minutes of music class. I introduced recorders to the 5th grade. Then I put together a booklet for them to teach themselves how to play more songs. They looked forward to working on this summer project independently. I tutored 5th and a 3rd graders this last year. A fifth grade student of mine was falling behind in her work load and brought home a below average report card during the first quarter of school. After my help her grades climbed to almost the A/B honor roll. Her parents were pleased with her improved grades, attitude, and self concept.
