Speaking is one of my top subjects! I consider myself a great public speaker. I recently passed Ball State Universtity's communications and public speaking course with an A and could help anyone do the same!

I like to teach as if I am one friend talking to another. I find that this is the most relaxed way to encourage learning. While a relaxed atmosphere is important, my parents (both elementary and high school teachers) showed me the importance of completing objectives. I will push you, my friend, to learn as much as possible - and retain that information - during our time together.
I am in my third year at Ball State University. I recently changed my major from Biology to Accounting; therefore, I have lots of knowledge in many different areas - some that aren't listed on my profile. I experimented with Political Science for two years, in which I took classes in criminology, speech, and history. My next year of college was spent in English and Writing, where I focused on the obvious, as well as classes in psychology. As an undergraduate, I attended Purdue University and worked as a teaching assistant where I ran my own lab, instructing students for one of their core management courses. In my junior year, I was asked to apply to an invitation-only program for an an accelerated MBA program only for exceptional students. I am now entering my final year of this program and will graduate in 2011 with a BS in Business Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. The graduate program is team focused and emphasizes working with and teaching diverse groups of people.
I am a strong believer in teaching through examples and letting students try to apply the knowledge I have taught them at various smaller stages, then apply it to the bigger picture. A Little Bit About Me...

Currently I am employed as a home-based Family Specialist in Social Work. I teach parenting to persons in their homes. As I teach adults new parenting methods, I also teach children how to respond more appropriately to their parents, thus creating a win/win situation. By earning a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master of Science in Management, I have learned skills that are necessary in both the personal and work world. I believe this has enhanced how I apply theory to practice. Many times as I am in different homes, I have tutored students who were in need. I served as a substitute teacher for a few months our local school system, though I prefer teaching on an individual basis.
