Teaching comes naturally to me in that I love to work with people (i.e. my professional career) and I love to encourage and inspire others to advance their lives through education. I create a comfortable atmosphere for students so that their stress level is reduced and they are able to focus on learning. At the same time, I make lessons fun yet serious. Learning requires having an interest, having a goal and paying attention. With individual tutoring, I use the opportunity to individualize lessons so students are motivated to achieve.
Having earned my college degrees as an adult, I am particularly interested in assisting adults in achieving their educational goals. I taught GED Preparation courses for seven years at the local Adult Education Program and assisted approximately 30 students in obtaining their GED.
