I teach to a mastery learning approach appropriate for language instruction. I present the material first in accordance with the text presentation, and then drill and quiz to ascertain the level of comprehension over the next several days. I realized that teaching was my passion and became a full-time ESL teacher at an elementary school in Washington, DC while earning masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from American University. Teaching and working with children has been a love of mine for quite some time now. I feel all student's have the ability to learn but at a pace and level that is comfortable to them. My teaching style reflects my experience working with developmentally delayed students such as those on the Autism Spectrum.
