I have recently graduated cum laude from Kent State University Stark with a BA in English and dual minors in Writing and History. The courses that I completed required an extensive amount of research and writing, in which I excelled. I also completed coursework in Grammar and in Tutoring Writing, an upper division English class which allowed me to gain employment in the University's Writing Center. As a tutor in the Writing Center I worked one-on-one with individual students on a variety of different subjects, organized Grammar Workshops, and visited classrooms to instruct students on the Writing Process.

My six years of teaching experience started in Pittsburgh, PA as a Preschool teacher within a Head Start program. I then moved to Martinsburg, WV where I taught Kindergarten for three years and First Grade for one year in a public school system. I am now working towards my M.Ed. in Reading while I substitute teach in grades K-8. I have always been a part of a tutoring program with the schools as well as outside sources (Sylvan Learning Center). I also tutored students while obtaining my undergrad degree in Elementary Education.

I am a 2006 honors graduate of Kent State University's Early Childhood Education, earning both an AS and BS and am currently working on a MS in Special Education. I entered the educational field as a career after finding a natural ability to meet the needs of learners with unique challenges through a mentor/tutor program at a local elementary school.
