A Little Bit About Me...

As a current student at Central Michigan, I continue to strive for the best education I can possibly achieve. I have clepped out or aced all english classes at the college level and have found a great interest in writing and reading papers and essays. I am extremely familiar with both APA and MLA writing styles and have had numerous hours and years of practice writing papers and essays for my college level courses. I received a 1 on my MEAP writing and a 30 on my ACT writing/English section.
Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience. I think that the greatest skill for one to learn is to be able to seek information that can be synthesized into the answer that is needed. My teaching style is to lead by example but then provide the student with the oppurtunity to work through the problem on their own. In my career in automotive plastics, I coached or taught manufacturing principles to improve quality and efficiency. I have seen through substituting that there are many children who need extra attention to help them understand a certain subject. Tutoring will allow me to give them the one-on-one they need to learn something that is hard in a classroom setting. I like to connect with the children immediately and try to use examples of real-life situations to guide their learning.
