Shakespeare is one of my top subjects! Part of my master's thesis was how Shakespeare teaches us to be better readers of the Bible. I focused primarily on King Lear.

I always teach the material in a way that was easy for me to learn. I learn best through "hands on" approaches. I learned how to write by practicing and imitating other professionals. I like to determine my teaching style by first evaluating a child's current progress and learning style. Learning is a very individualized process, therefore, teaching must also be individual. I am a relaxed person, and I like to find a way to relate material to a child in a way that he/she will not only understand, but retain. Flash cards are great for some children, and other children will learn better with a pneumonic device, while still other learners will make up a song to remember the material.

In our current education system, students are allowed to move to more difficult courses without having the necessary building blocks. Through one-on-one tutoring, it is possible to take a couple steps back, assess a student's current capabilities and tailor lessons to the individual student (i.e. one student may need to back track and practice fractions before moving on to more difficult algebra).
