As a graduate of a prestigious University, I was challenged to get into the competitive program and motivated to earn a bachelors degree in the field of Graphic Design. A Little Bit About Me...

Art is my passion! In 2008 I obtained a degree in graphic communications at Clemson. My major required creativity to design certain types of print; such as labels, books, t-shirts, and brochures. I also took photography and art history. Although these classes required artistic talent, my true art education began in high school. I attended the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville for two years. There, I took classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, jewelry, photography, and art history. Since then, I continue to paint, draw, and make jewelry. As I suffered through my younger years with Attention Deficit Disorder, I feel that it is extremely important to appeal to almost all of the senses when teaching. As for myself, I am definitely a visual learner, so I feel that visual aids are important. I am a big fan of hand outs in full color. You will often find me drawing a picture on the board. I feel it is important to hear it and see it, and if you can, touch it. Another important teaching style I implement, is watching my students and making sure they know how to do it. Going around and walking each student through the process and asking them to do what I did really confirms that the student understands what I have taught them.

That being said I try to make the learning as fun as possible but organized. I also try to bring in anything that they are interested in to make them enjoy the subject they are learning. I've always known that I wanted to work with children and adolescents. Prior to college, I was chosen to enroll in a course that helps those desiring to work in education or any filed working with young people. Also, I worked as a Substitute teacher and Paraprofessional Teacher for a special needs classroom over the course of a school year; which include the areas of reading, mathematics, science, and language arts.
