I love teaching children and being able to see them learn. It is awesome to see and hear when they finally "get it" or when they understand something that I taught them. Moreover, when a student gives you an answer to a question and uses an example of something that you taught them earlier, it really shows you how quickly they can pick things up. My teaching "style" is very open--I will have an outline and while I am presenting I will sometimes ask for examples from the students to help get us through the outline together. You can't speak AT them; you have to involve the students in what you are teaching them.

Previous to working in the Milwaukee Public Schools District, I worked at the UW-Milwaukee Children’s Center as a teacher in a kindergarten classroom. I instructed students on reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Through my courses at UW-Milwaukee, I have been placed in many field placements. In these field placements, I planned and implemented lesson plans.
I believe that every child can learn and be successful.
