When I became a mom, I decided to home school my kids so that I could take an active part in their education and I could guide them in ways that someone else might not find interesting or important. I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. My BS in Electrical Engineering enables me to tutor effectively in math and science, and my PhD in Philosophy qualifies me for Science, History, and some writing help (I have published in peer-reviewed journals). I have often tutored privately for friends and family, and they tell me I do a very good job. I prefer one-on-one conversation in a question-and-answer format (Socratic method).
