A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style may vary depending on the student. I would have to get a feel of what the child like and dislike about the subject he or she is struggling in. I would also want to obtain a list of goals or expectations from the student's parents in order to implement a plan that will aid both the student and I to accomplish the targeted goal. I will implement interesting ways to make the subject fun so that the student can build confidence and enjoy the learning process.

To me, there is nothing more gratifying than achieving the "aha" moment when a child or adult understands a concept and can put it into practice. Because there is no single path to arriving at that moment, I believe it is necessary to understand how a student best learns and then tailor my tutoring to his or her learning style. My first priority is to to act as a detective to ask questions to determine how a student responds to various teaching styles.
