In January of 2008, I was hired to work at the University of Akron – Wayne College Learning Center as a peer tutor. We are responsible for helping students that come in seeking tutoring (including test preparation and homework help). Over the past two plus years, I have tutored students in mathematics (college level basic math 1 through calculus one) and chemistry. Over the past three and a half years, I have been working towards a degree in Chemical Engineering so I have familiarity with math through multivariable calculus (called Calculus three on our campus) as well as differential equations and chemistry: inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, and organic chemistry.

When I graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, OH, my professors left me with the knowledge and the drive to succeed in all future endeavors. At MSU, I first worked as a Supplemental Instructor and then became a Graduate Assistant (before I even earned my Bachelor's degree) in the School of Business. I also worked in the math department as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. I have taught business, accounting and math classes at the college level when instructor was absent. Accounting is by far my strong suit, followed by Excel, Economics and Math, however I do not use high-level math often, although I got A's in everything throughout college.
I enjoy teaching at a high school level or above. I am very hands on. I am a bit of a story teller - rearranging the circumstances of the problem into an issue more easily related to by the student. I am very patient and relaxed - there are very few people who have a lower stress level than I do.
