My undergraduate background is in philosophy and my teaching experience is in mathematics. I am personally committed to communicating the value of knowing math principles to every person in their daily lives. Mathematics is a language for understanding problems and breaking complicated problems down into simple problems step by step. Math isn't just about numbers and variables; it is a mental habit of problem solving that can be used to de-mystify problems in every day life. I am especially interested in teaching math through the use of visual aids and games.
I earned a BA in Philosophy at Kent State University in 2000. I have a BA in education 7-12th grade. I currently substitute teach and coach highschool football. I love seeing students reach thier potential through my committed aid as well as hard work.I have lead tutoring seccions thoughout my highschool and collage carees. I continue with this by leading study tables at the schools I substitute for.
I feel I am able to look at children as induvidual learners and accomidate thier needs through a wide varity of teaching methods.
