I’m pursuing a degree as a Middle School Math Teacher. I’m currently working on my Basic Skills Exam for Teaching in Florida and expect to have it completed in the next two weeks. I previously attended SLCC in Utah where I took a lot of Math and Science classes related to Electrical Engineering. Hands on, and more of an application study. I believe that the only way to actually understand something is being able to apply it to real world situations.
My experience is all in college. I had 9 Labs in college in all my science courses. I excelled very well in my science courses and i keep learning. Did great in my research project class. Played college baseball so i am great with athletes that do not want to study. I can break down big concepts into smaller concepts that is understandable for all students in the academia process. I studied a lot myself to achieve success in college and do well in classes.

My comments on tutoring Calculus I : I have done math in high school and college right up to calculus II and Algebra III, and I have been tutoring to math from elementary up to college level.

I saw the importance and having to tutor my children at home so they can have a better education. I home schooled and taught my eight year old who has a learning disability and autism. I completed my BS degree in electrical engineering in 2007. While pursing that degree, I took coursework in Math (through Calc I-III, Differential Equations, and Linear Systems Analysis) Physics, and Chemistry. Following graduation I worked as a project engineer constructing and commissioning an oil refinery in southwest Asia. Among with my technical responsibilities, I participated in training future local operators via translator.
To begin, I have always loved science and working with numbers. I'm very patient when trying to explain a topic to someone. I believe the majority of problems with comprehension people have, especially in math/science, are due to an incomplete background or an unclear explanation.
