A Little Bit About Me...

I am a strong believer in teaching through examples and letting students try to apply the knowledge I have taught them at various smaller stages, then apply it to the bigger picture. I love working with kids, and I think that with patience, understanding, and time, all students are capable of reaching their potential.
As an undergraduate, I attended Purdue University and worked as a teaching assistant where I ran my own lab, instructing students for one of their core management courses. In my junior year, I was asked to apply to an invitation-only program for an an accelerated MBA program only for exceptional students. I am now entering my final year of this program and will graduate in 2011 with a BS in Business Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. The graduate program is team focused and emphasizes working with and teaching diverse groups of people.

A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Economics and plan to continue my education into a Masters of Science in Accountancy program. During my tenure as a student, I had the opportunity to work four years in the college's Academic Resource Center as a writing consultant where I assisted students to improve their writing ability and to understand that writing should be look at the process rather than attempt to "correct" each paper. In addition being a writing consultant, I also acted as a student assistant for the center as well. As an engineer, I love math, and I love tutoring math. Having obtained a Communications degree from college, I was quite driven to help students who faced challenges in the areas of reading/writing. Further, I had extensive experience in Title I and Reading Labs, even on the college campus where I studied. Later, I earned my Master's degree and did research to assist me in understanding the pervasive issue of a higher incidence of language difficulties faced by these students versus that realized in Math. During the past years, I have taught high school and college English courses to students who have been identified as needing assistance in Reading and writing.
