As a Special Education teacher at heart, I firmly believe that education needs to be guided by the student. I may have a lesson to teach but I am constantly changing the lesson depending on the individual student. I believe that learning should be a fun experience that is according the the learners pace. I have been teaching since I was young. I have tutored students since the age of 14 and I have taught students from ages 3 to 18 years old. I have been teaching in the Texas public school system for the last 4 years and I have loved every minute of it! I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to 5th as a special education inclusion teacher. As an inclusion teachers I have been able to teach grade level content to students who understand it but need for it to be taught in a different way. I am excellent at lesson differentiation and working with individuals who need help the most.

Had a son with severe dyslexia as well as being extremely gifted which made identification difficult. I learned through being on the International Dyslexia Association branch board for 14 years as a lay parent by attending workshops, conferences, and got exposed to various teaching strategies how to help such a student. They may come in mild, moderate, and severe levels, along with other co-existing conditions like dysgraphia (poor handwriting), most excel at math, but some have difficulty with word problems because of their problems with reading and comprehension. Teach about some of the problems being gifted bring to the equation, and what your educational options might be. My language intervention program has showed huge success and is producing significant improvements in reading skill, comprehension, and done in a minimal amount of time which saves you money in the long run. Upon graduting from college, I became an after-school tutor, grades 4-6, focusing on all levels of homework and emphasis on students who had particular needs. I entered the teaching field in 2005 as a high school English teacher in grades 9 and 12. I learned extensive outlets and skills in regards to test preparation, research, grammar, and real-world applications. My second and third year teaching was in an academy setting focusing on law. I taught grades 9, 10 and 12. There I was able to learn legal gargin, community involvement with our students and their education, and law papers. Over the last few years I have tutored in research writing, TAKS preparation, math of all levels, writing and other subjects. Having been a teacher, I understand all teachers teach differently, much like a student learns in a variety of ways. My approach is to bridge the gap that lies between the two

I attended college later in life. Recently, the opportunity arose to better myself. I chose Early Childhood Education and then continued on to obtain my Bachelor's Degree. Following this, I returned to school for Nursing. Eventually, we moved to Texas where I applied,tested and obtained my LCCA License. While in New York State, I was employed through the Alternative Suspension Program as an LVN. While there,I assisted with the teaching of students. This in turn gave me the opportunity to obtain my certification in Teaching. I remained in this position for two years. During this time, I had my own case load of 5-8 students grade 7-12. Following this position, I was employed at a tutor for those youth who were home bound.
