I like to have visuals. They are important no matter what age. i use powerpoint, pictures, think of stories, and try to get the students involved as much as they can. People either learn, by seeng, doing, or both, so it is good to teach using all of the learning tools. As a business major I learned alot about the importance of language and communication. I took classes in english, and writing. I was a tutor for over 100 students for 2 years in finance and taght a class twice a week on Microsoft Excel. In high school I volunteered at an elementary school to help children with ADD and behavioral issues for 3 trimesters. I was a staff member at Cedar Badge, a week long leadership training course for scouts, teaching leadership skills.

I am really good with kids. What I excel at is relating info. I can tell when someone is struggling, and usually know how to rectify the situation. I really enjoyed when I was able to tutor in elementary. The kids that I worked with had real problems in Math. With all of the kids that I taught they learned quick, just not the way teachers taught. I had to come up with different methods to relate the subject to them. In Elementary I tutored for about a year. I also worked at a youth camp for kids with add adhd drug issues and anger problems. I have my A.S. in business and am very good with Math. Graduating from BYU-Idaho, I've learned that a quality education is of the utmost importance, not only for college-age students, but starting from infancy. I had a son with some special needs. I had to help him with his math throughout most of his junior high and high school years. From time to time, other students in my neighborhood have asked for assistance with their school studies. Assisting them when needed is something I have done several times over the years. I am a kid at heart. I understand and relate to children of all ages. I believe that if you are patient with those that are trying to learn, and can find things that they relate to, teaching becomes easier for everyone involved.
