I have been a Paraprofessional in an Inclusion setting classroom for the past 13 years. I am responsible for making sure that SPED students IEP is implemented and followed. I assist students in small groups as well as one on one. I have dealt with students with all types of disabilities such as LD, Ed, Add, ADHD, and OHI. I try to make the student feel as comfortable as possible with making mistakes. That's the whole point of studying, to improve. This requires a lot of patience and understanding of how the student views the assignment. Looking back the teachers that I learned the most from were the ones that kept my attention and had practical experience with the courses I was taking. I hope to emulate them in my tutoring.
