I have been a Paraprofessional in an Inclusion setting classroom for the past 13 years. I am responsible for making sure that SPED students IEP is implemented and followed. I assist students in small groups as well as one on one. I have dealt with students with all types of disabilities such as LD, Ed, Add, ADHD, and OHI. A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. I have also been a substitute teacher at my local high school since 2007. I recently worked under a doctoral candidate on a research project about warblers. More About This Tutor...

Education has always been one of my greatest facinations. I achieved a BA in English grammars, a MLA in creative writing, and fifteen credits towards a PhD in literature and literary criticism. I discovered the writing center at my undergraduate university and became a tutor immediately. I found that I was in a position to learn just as much at the students I tutored. Over the past twelve years, I have continued that facination with learning in voluntary tutoring sessions.
I believe in the program of teaching across the curriculum. As a teacher to be, I believe that students are much more willing to participate in writing goood papers when it is in a subject that has meaning for them.
