A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching all types of Mathematics for 30 years from Elementary up to college. Presently, I am a full time high school math teacher teaching Algebra I and II and AP Calculus. This includes teaching students who are going to take ASVAB and SAT exams. I have been chose teacher of the year several years. For a long period of time, I have a very close to 100 percent passing Standard of Learning math Test including Ap Calculus College Exam. Aside from being a teacher, I also serve as Department Chairperson of the Math Department.

Students generally perform better with hands-on practice. I provide multiple opportunities for hands-on and guided practice as time permits. Associate new concepts to familiar ones. Our memories are largely associative in nature. Therefore, providing connections from new concepts back to well established ones increases our retention and recall. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved in tutoring many of my peers throughout high school and college. I find it very rewarding to help others succeed in their education. Many of my peers just needed a different way to have the information presented to them. They needed to be outside of the classroom. They needed to feel comfortable. I gave them all those things as well as encouragement.
I try to find the best way to relate the given information to the student. Not everyone learns the same way. I will find what makes the most sense to the student and help them understand the given information. Throughout my education, I sometimes just wanted a different approach to the information.
