Piano is one of my top subjects! I am most suited to teach beginning-intermediate students.

I have many volunteer hours stacked up working with groups of children, but I would love to teach on a more personal basis to build my one-on-one skills. I'm currently an education major at Colorado State University, and while music is my emphasis, I was always very studious in school and am well-versed in other subjects. I have received numerous academic and artistic awards, some (such as being named a Texas Music Scholar) encompass both.
For me, teaching isn't about pounding new material into their head, it's about helping them understand the material they're given and actually having fun learning. That's why my teaching style is all about fun and retention.

I was a reading tutor for America Reads, a volunteer in a Head Start program, and completed numerous community art projects, including murals, with local children.

I am first and foremost a teacher/learning facilitator, and secondly a computer lover. As a teacher I am sequential in learning points, and creative in presentation. My only formal tutoring experience was during my high school years as a reading tutor for middle school students attending an at-risk school in Tulsa, OK. That said, I have guided, mentored and coached countless fellow students during my college career as well as professionals who have worked either with or for me during my 11 1/2 year career as an accountant.
