I enjoy catering to the students learning style. I like to identify the students strong and weak points, and find ways to use what the student already has, to make his or her weak points stronger. During my undergrad studies at UWRF, I was sponsored to become a tutor in the Writing Center on campus. There was a prerequisite practicum, but it was very hands-on learning. I worked with students from a variety of backgrounds (ESL, freshman comp, MS candidates, etc). At Metro State I participated in a semester program teaching English in Puerto Rico, for which I received the ESL certification. I also TA'd for Writing and Designing for the Web. I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. I enjoy not only helping them learn, but also their backstory and considering how it affects their learning style. I also have an innate love of learning, and feel that it's a great gift to help someone realize their own potential.

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a BS in Marketing Communications. My minor area of study while at River Falls was Psychology, and over the course of my college career, my interest in the topic has developed into a career goal. I plan to return to UW River Falls this Fall to earn a Mater's degree in School Psychology. For the past six years I have taught and coached Swimming and Diving lessons to children ages 4-16. My teaching experience began during high school when I would help out at my church's Sunday School providing remedial services like handing out papers. Since then I have earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics with ambitions to earn a PhD. During my undergraduate experience I tutored beginning accounting students for a couple hours a week aside from the usual work of helping classmates.
