Everyone can learn - it just takes the right presentation!

I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects!

I've never really tutored before outside of helping my classmates, but even still I excel when it comes to teaching others tactics for reading and writing. I am extremely patient and studious when it comes to helping others learn, especially children. I graduated a year earlier than I should have due to skipping a grade because of my reading and writing skills. I took two years of AP English (Rhetoric and Literature) in high school and scored a 4 (out of a maximum score of 5) on my AP exam. Experienced Instructor: Elementary- University

I teach at a University full time. My experience ranges from traditional students, to special education students, and many non-traditional students (such as those adult students working full time and raising families). I enjoy making science accessible to everyone because the subject is truly fun!
I prefer to teach with open dialogue. Feedback and discussion is one of the most solid methods for evaluating comprehension. If I see that subject comprehension is lacking or missing, it is my challenge to re-present the material for the student (as many times as it takes!).
