My teaching style has defiantly evolved over the years working with a wide variety of students and learning styles. I have learned that each student is unique, and should not be underestimated simply because of a diagnosis or so called disability. I do my best to approach each student s learning style with an open mind and a wide range of possible strategies and tools. My goal as an educator is to ensure that a student reaches her or his potential and beyond. I strive to never underestimate a student or to stagger their intellectual growth by underestimating their potential.

I have worked in education at the community college level for several years. I worked as an English Tutor for four years at Washtenaw Community College before being asked to join the part-time teaching staff. My class load consisted mostly of Composition I and Technical Writing classes; occasionally I would substitute for Literature courses when needed. In addition to my educational experience, I also have corporate experience working as a Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist in companies such as: EDS, GM, and Consumer Energy.
I can’t imagine myself not spending the rest of my life teaching. I have worked both in the educational field and the corporate world and without a doubt I know with whom my heart belongs. through my teaching career I have had numerous workshops and professional Development in all areas in education. I have been able to combine different teaching strategies to fit the needs of my students. In Arizona I taught Fourth Grade where 80% of my studens were English Language Learners of Hispanic decent. This was a real leaning experience. I took the Dibels training which really helped my teaching techniques. Using Orton-Guillingham guidelines with the hundreds of hours of teacher training allowed my students to excel. I believe my varied experiences and a love for my profession enables me to be a Master Teacher.
