My passion for education blossomed while volunteering as a tutor with Somali refugee children in Pittsburgh, PA during college. I worked with families in their homes to develop English reading, writing, and speaking skills. After graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science I joined Teach For America, where I taught first grade for two years and substitute taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for one year. I pursued and received an Electrical Engineering degree to attain a career in the high technology field of semiconductor chip product developemnt in 1978. After a 25 year career with Texas Instruments, I chose to continue my love for math and science by attaining a TEA certificate for high school mathematics. I am currently a highly qualified AP Calculus, AP Physics, Pre-calculus and Engineering Math instructor at Hargrave High School, Huffman, TX. As an Graduate of Applied Science of Industrial Instrumentation. I was extremely driven to accomplish a long sought after goal of completing college while shift working and raising a family of four sons all on my own. I graduated Phi Theta Kappa, National Dean's List, and was offered internship in three different countries. China, Europe and Austrila.
