My approach is to first find out what the students know about the topic and what comfort level they are at with the material. Once I have gotten a sense of where the student is at in the learning process, we then use their current knowledge as building blocks for future lessons. I student taught and tutored two days out of the week for four hours for two and a half consecutive semesters. I absolutely enjoyed working with the students, it was the teachers that had me hang up my hat in that field.
